Today is International Women’s Day. For over 100 years, March 8 has celebrated the women’s rights movement. While we have come a long way in the last century, it is clear that we still have a long way to go. On a note of optimism, it does seem like now more than ever before these challenges are gaining much needed attention. When these conversations are had, they raise awareness and help gain commitment to equality.

In the spirit of furthering this conversation to support equality, we wanted to share with you this post series from Sam Connor on Twitter. To mark the International Women’s Day, Sam highlights some of the issues still facing women with disabilities.

The list is extensive and may be challenging or even triggering to some readers. However, hopefully it is part of continuing forward a conversation that improves equality by raising awareness of the challenges that still exist for many people today.

For the full series, check out Sam’s posts on Twitter and while you’re there be sure to follow us as well. When we connect and understand more about each other, we can come together to create a tomorrow that is better than today.

Thank you to all the amazing women that are part of CareNavigator and make our community possible. The advice you share helps thousands of people find great care. Thank you and wishing all our CareNavigators a happy International Women’s Day!
